If each of us would only sweep our own doorstep, the whole world would be clean. To Sweep = using a broom, not a gas blower.

These questions are asked all the time, so let us answer it up front.

Does ANYONE get paid at Farm Feliz? NO. Anyone? NO.

Has anyone ever been paid? NO?

Where do you get your money? Donations from our members and friends mostly, (we just take it out of our own pockets mostly) and Neighborhood Councils and one time checks from folks to buy materials etc.

Farm Feliz, an all volunteer organization, was founded by Tomas O'Grady in the fall of 2008 to bring together no-nonsense folks and farmers who want to help out their community and planet through greening and activism.

Our goal is do things that both enrich and beautify our community AND somehow reduce our negative effect on our planet. We will not do the first part without the second part. We also like to do things on a shoe string.

We simply believe that the way to fix anything, no matter how big of a problem, is to just get going and start fixing a piece of it.

Farm Feliz, with the help of funding from the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council has executed and now maintains a number of greening projects at Thomas Starr King Middle School. We take care of the plants at the Hoover Steps, and our volunteers work at Farm Franklin (Franklin Elementary School).

Every Tuesday at Farm King we take almost 300 King Middle School students outside, where they learn how to compost, farm, and take care of our planet. Farm Feliz is a no- nonsense, no cost group. We are not into talking, we are into doing. We are not community organizers, we are community workers. We are not into feeling good, we are into doing good. If you offer Tomas, the founder, a hug, he will tell you to go hug a tree. Farm Franklin coordinates the recycling program at Franklin Elementary. Our motive simply is to do and to do it well. We now have a recycling program at King. You could be a farmer too and give back something tangible to your neighborhood.

Maybe you have a project that you want to execute. We will come and help you. We just want to get the job done. Please note that no volunteer or member of Farm feliz recieves compensation of any kind.
